I used to go to this salon when I lived in Somerville. It was great, except for the receptionist, who generally behaved like she was doing you a favor to even look at you. I moved to Toms River, but since I needed to be in the vicinity today, I made an appointment since my hair has gotten to be rather long and unmanageable. When I arrived at 3:20 for my 3:30 appointment, the receptionist (same one) looked at me like I crawled out from under a rock, and when I told her I was there for my appointment, she said bluntly that I didn't have one. I replied that I wrote it down, and it was for 3:30 today. Then she looked at the book, informed me that "someone" (most likely her) had erased it. This seemed extremely strange, but it got stranger yet when she said I could wait until 5:30 (the next appointment). That was totally unacceptable, first because the erasure was rude and uncalled for, second because driving on the Parkway any time between 4 and 7 takes forever. This was extremely bad customer service, and I will NOT be going back there.
This place has been around forever, but their stylists are always changing! It's nice to see that management recognizes young talent when they see it :) I recommend Bridget!
Great salon and personable staff
If you have curly or wavy hair - come here! Guy is amazing and will cut your hair right. I have gone here since I was in elementary school and found myself bouncing from salon to salon for a few years after moving around. I went back and couldn't be happier. No more bouncing around for me!
I have been to other salons in the area and this one is by far the best environment and most friendly staff I have come across. The young lady that made my appointment was so nice and pleasant to talk to. They do great work and make you feel like you are part of their family. If you are looking to get a great cut/color in a welcoming environment then this is the place for you!
